Gillian Goodheir

Gillian was born Glasgow 1945. Educated at Laurelbank School, she was taught art by Mary Allan and Helen Davie, both artists in their own right and inspiring teachers. She then went on to Glasgow School of Art (1963-68), gaining a diploma in drawing and painting and post-diploma-highly commended. She won Mclaine Watters Medal- RSA 1966.From there Gillian went to Jordanhill College of Education from 69-70 thus enabling her to teach art in Glasgow for six years.
Gillian and her husband moved to mid-Argyll in 1975 where they ran a small holding, while she at the same time did some supply teaching. She began painting full time in the early 1980's, holding both one-man and mixed shows. Her work is now in collections in U.S.A., Canada, Hong-Kong, Holland, France, New Zealand and all over the U.K.
