Kirsten Scheuerl

Artists Statement:
Kirsten studied drawing and painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, graduating in 1996.
Since then she has worked on a variety of projects, commissions and exhibited in various galleries.
Her recent body of work, depicting car journeys, has been exhibited in the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh and the Meffan, Forfar.
In 2009 she won The Royal Patrons Award, for "Journey Home" during the Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour annual show.

Car journey set. "Car journeys, for me, often feel romantic and is a vivid memory as far back as I can remember. The blurred out lights, the warmth, the radio voices and dampened down sounds of the traffic always feel comforting."
