Walter S. Watson

I was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1945 and chose a scientific rather than artistic career. My working life was spent in city hospitals which was very fulfilling but left little opportunity for art. During this time, I would paint very occasionally.
Following retirement in 2005, we moved to St Andrews and I became fascinated by the picturesque coastal towns and villages and by the big skies. This has encouraged me to return to painting - now I need to paint!
Most of my work is watercolour as I like the purity of the medium. However, I have recently starting using acrylics and am really enjoying slapping colour onto canvas for the first time.
Most of my work has been exhibited in galleries in the east of Scotland from Pitlochry down to Pittenweem.
10% of any profit from the paintings goes to the Scottish charity, Marys Meals.
So a bit of a late developer, but I am very happy to have “rediscovered” painting and I hope you enjoy the results.
