Joanna
Wright lives and works in the village of Ullapool on the west coast
of Scotland. She is interested in the line between abstraction and
visual sense, and the ways in which colour, shape and mark contribute
to the wholeness of an image. Being in the highlands, her subjects
depend much on the weather: the summer lends itself to explorations
of the harbour and the generous light; the winter to ideas of inside-out,
shapes within shapes as the landscape recedes.
As well as painting Joanna works for community art centre An Talla
Solais, and Ullapool-based art school Bridge House Art.
