Liz
Yule is a Scottish artist based in Fife. A former Civil Engineering
technician, she retired from that career in 1987 to concentrate
on bringing up her family and to develop her artistic talents. Liz
is mainly inspired by Scottish landscapes, seascapes , harbour and
street scenes, She tries to capture the feeling of light in her
paintings using an impressionistic style and a bold use of colour
and tone. She has always loved the freshness and transparency of
watercolours but now often paints in acrylics as well. Art prizes
have included five shell expo awards at Kirkaldy Art Gallery, but
she is best known as the winner of Channel 4 television 2001 series
of watercolour challenge . Liz exhibits her work in many galleries
and venues in Scotland and teaches art at Forgan Art Centre, Newport.
